Manipal-GoK Bioincubator is conducted an enriching workshop focused on Skill Development in Wet Lab Techniques: Basics of Microbiology. During the session, participants from WGSHA Manipal gained hands-on experience in culturing anaerobic bacterial strains, with demonstrations of key techniques such as streaking, spreading, and inoculation.

Manipal - Government of Karnataka Bioincubator, a Technology Business Incubator (TBI) was established with the support of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), K Tech-Government of Karnataka and BIRAC - Department of Biotechnology, Government of India.

The hackathon comprises two important segments:  Euphoria 9.0 and the Grand Finale.

Euphoria 9.0 on October 22nd, 2024 at 9:15 am: A segment featuring virtual engaging talks focused on brainstorming participants about pertinent topics in the Biotechnology field, emphasizing innovations and technology.

Grand Finale on November 06th, 2024: Participating teams will virtually pitch their ideas to a closed group of jury members.

The entire event will be conducted online via the MS Teams platform. Participation is open to all students and researchers affiliated with academic or research institutions (UG/PG/Doctoral studies). Manipal Medtech Hackathon -2022

Manipal Academy of Higher Education has declared 2022 as the Year of Innovation and Entrepreneurship to encourage and foster culture of innovation, technology development and entrepreneurship among students.  As a part of it Manipal - Government of Karnataka Bioincubator, with support of MAHE is hosting a 20 day long virtual All-India Hackathon, MANIPAL MEDTECH HACKATHON 2022, in the month of October 2022. 

Manipal MedTech Hackathon 2022 is conducted with the vision of promoting student innovations, technology development, startup creation, and encouraging critical thinking essential to address the most critical needs of the Medical domain. The expectation from multi-domain applicant/teams is to explore unsolved problems and discover innovative solutions with scalable business models. The Hackathon will be virtual, with mentoring sessions, and is conducted entirely on Microsoft Teams, commencing from the 28^th September to 19^th  October 2022, and the final pitching and evaluation will be on 20^th  October 2022.

Global Technology Solutions -2022

The Global Technology Solutions -2022 is a joint program of UNB’s Herbert Smith Centre for Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, Manipal Academy of Higher Education and Manipal Government of Karnataka Bioincubator. This program is for the undergraduate and post graduate students to learn the basics of entrepreneurship and innovation by solving the real world problems.

The application will keep open for twenty-five days, and all UG (5 to 8) and/or PG students (1-2) of MAHE and UNB are eligible to apply.

This program provides student innovators the exposure to technology development platforms and clarity to structure their innovative ideas and turn them into viable Global technology solutions.

The program duration will be four months, with 20 virtual sessions for 2 hours (5-7 pm in India and 8 to 10 Am in Canada) every day. The duration of the talk would be at least 1.30 hrs, followed by Q& A sessions and interactions every day. It will be followed by team formation, and meetings should be reported to the mentors on a weekly basis.

About Exoskeletons in Rehabilitation of Stroke Patients

Patients suffering from loss of hand functions caused by stroke or spinal cord injuries have driven a surge in the development of wearable robotic devices.  A Brain Computer Interface that utilizes the wearers EMG and EEG signals controls the exoskeletons during neuro rehabilitation therapy. Clinical experimental results with stroke patients prove the utility of these devises and also shed new light on recovery after stroke.
